Mislav Režić was born in Split, Croatia 1978. He studied at the Academy of fine arts in his hometown with Goran Listeš where he graduated in 2001 as the best student of his generation. The same year he moved to the Netherlands, where he obtained Master degrees studying in the classes of Zoran Dukić at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and Carlo Marchione at the Hogeschool in Maastricht. He has won many national and two international music prizes (International Guitar Competitions in Zwolle 2002 and Enschede 2007) and in 2003 Croatian Society of Music Artists awarded him the prize for one of the most talented young Croatian musicians.
Mislav Režić leads an active international career as a soloist, chamber musician and a teacher. A wide interest in musical styles led him to collaborations with different musicians and ensembles. He is a founding member of Ensemble Machetes specialized in contemporary music and performs in duets with harpsichordist Cvetanka Sozovska and mezzo-soprano Tanja Šimić. Since 2006 he is collaborating with flutist Antigoni Tsalla exploring the repertoire of 19th century chamber music, performed on period instruments. So far he performed in concert venues of Croatia, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Finland, Belgium, Greece, France, Czech Republic, Denmark and Spain, and recorded for Croatian RTV and Radio Vatican (Programmi musicali). Apart from his regular engagement as a guitar teacher in various institutions, he is also periodically giving master classes and lectures in Croatia, Italy and Montenegro. In 2009 he was invited as guest associate teacher and lecturer at the Academy of fine arts in Split, Croatia. Since 2013 he conducts a guitar course at the International summer music school Kastela, Croatia.
